absolutely marvellous - from the location, the friendliness and the food. When I got home and shared our experience with my friend who recommended us your house, there was one thin that we thought was not appropriate. the way the rooms are cleaned up. We both felt that it was too much to put all our personal belongings in the suitcase and/or cupboard. This is not appropriate in our view, as it is a question of privacy. The rest was perfect.

Looking to have a short break in St Ives to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we came across Trevose Harbour House, and having visited St Ives many times before, it was the hotels great position being only 75 yards from St Ives beach promenade, that first attracted us, followed by the look of its decor and its offer of reserved parking. (A great big bonus in St Ives) Out of It's six rooms, we chose one that gave a wonderfully expansive view of St Ives sea front and town which we never tired of watching. Having stayed at numerous different standard of hotels, we can honestly say we have never experienced such warm, friendly and 'attention to detail' service that Olivier and Angela provided. Briefly listing our experiences, we were met at the car park and our case carried to the hotel while we parked. On arrival we were greeted as friends, offered tea or coffee and while waiting, were presented with warm and scented hand refreshers. Our room was impeccably presented as was the rest of the hotel. Early each evening we received a knock on the door and presented with a little gift on a plate (normally a delicious fruit/chocolate combination) and indicating the care and service given to their guests, on the first day a delicious chocolate and strawberry cake was delivered to our room as an anniversary gift! Breakfast time was a mammoth treat every day. Apart from an available array of fruit, drinks and cereals to choose from, the main menu was superb with a variety of choice we have never experienced before and cooked to perfection by Olivier. Our stay at Trevose Harbour House was far too short and we cannot wait to return to what we now consider to be the best in St Ives.

Tips:

Too numerous to mention but a visit to the Tate and Barbara Hepworth's studio/museum is a must

It is rare to find somewhere that offers a perfect short break. Everything in this small hotel was to the very highest standards. That was matched by the superb service, friendliness and welcome from the owners and all the staff. Even the weather was not a problem as there are lots of galleries to see, beaches to play in or coastline to walk; a perfect destination.

The Trevose is definitely the best hotel we stayed at while traveling around Cornwall. Angela and Olivier are such lovely people and take very good care of their guests. We also had a warm welcome from Jazz. The Trevose is more a Boutique Hotel: every little small detail is well thought of and perfect! We loved the furnishing and colors, the breakfast (tasty coffees, organic products, fresh fruits.....) and the warm welcoming atmosphere. We will surely come back some day to stay a little big longer and we highly recommend the Trevose for a stay in St Yves.

Tips:

Go and see the Tate and the the Barbara Hepworth Museum, the surrounding beaches, walk around in St Yves and enjoy the small independent shops and nice restaurants. From Trevose you can do it by walking. Don’t miss the Porthminster BeachCafe!!

Olivier and Angela were extremely friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The breakfast was so tasty and healthy and Olivier would always tweak the menu to what would suit you more (Jamie’s bacon sandwich :) the room was amazing and little touches such as coming home in the evening to a immaculate room with a candle lit and chocolates for a night cap. My only niggle was we didn’t get a sea view room but that was our fault for not booking early enough! We will definitely be returning.

Tips:

We spent a wonderful five days at Trevose Harbour House. This was our second vacation there, having previously visited 6 years ago in their first year of opening. We had the pleasure of staying in the attic room (suite 6) this time, which surpassed our expectations. We knew from our previous visit that the standard of accommodation was exceptionally high, and suite 6 surpassed all expectations, it was a beautifully stylish and extremely comfortable room, with everything we could possibly have wanted, available to make our stay that much more luxurious. The breakfasts were amazing offering a wide selection of both hot and cold choices again with a great attention to detail. Jess, Ollie and Angela made us feel very welcome, we could not have asked for better hosts they went the extra mile every day to ensure our stay was perfectly comfortable, enjoyable and effortless. A wonderful holiday for both Paul and I and we will be returning again soon I hope.

Tips:

Ollie and Angela will also make great recommendations, we though absolutely loved; 1 Fish Street, Portgwedden and Portmeor. We loved the Eden Project, the many open gardens and the Tate.

We spent 4 days at this beautiful hotel. The rooms are elegantly furnished in a relaxed stylish design. There are fresh flowers throughout the hotel and the attention to detail of the decor creates a lovely environment to stay. We stayed in 2 separate rooms, both beautiful and both with a sea view. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The decking area is good for relaxing in the sunshine. The breakfast is wonderful. Home made with fresh ingredients and delicious and interesting options to choose from. The location is perfect. The hosts are charming and helpful and the welcome was er, welcoming! If ever a review deserved 5 stars, this is it. Not cheap, but you don't mind paying when the standard is so high.

The rooms are furnished to the highest quality and kept in absolute top order. There are a handful of guest rooms which means you always receive genuine and personal service from the owners and staff without being overbearing. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful little house in the middle of St Ives, only a short stroll from the harbour with its beach and shops. The restaurants and bars are all in close proximity too. The train station is only a 5 min walk away. Angela, Oliver and Jess make you feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the attention to detail is commendable. We have stayed here twice and wouldn’t stay anywhere else!!! Fantastic xx

Tips:

The Thai restaurant on the Harbour front is great!! We have walked the coastal path to Lelant for coffee a garden centre and then caught the train back.

Trevose is beautifully presented and we had one of the warmest welcomes we have ever experienced thanks to Jess. Angela and Ollie also went out of their way to make sure that our stay was friendly and very well catered for. The breakfasts are lovely, and a bit different and we were given a lovely chocolate cake on arrival as it was our wedding anniversary.....what a super touch and much enjoyed!!! Trevose can only be highly recommended and the only reason that there is a score of 4 there is that our shower needed a part to fix it and the room was very hot.

Tips:

There’s plenty to see and do in St Ives and the surrounding area. The Scarlet near Lelant was great for dining and there are a lot of eateries in St Ives itself. Trevose will be happy to give you a full guide and lots of help.

Great location, great breakfast and lovely rooms. Very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay very much. One small area for improvement would be to have some hooks in the bedroom and bathroom (behind the room door and bathroom door, for example, to hang up jackets/worn clothes or wet/used bathrobes. It would also be useful to have hooks or some kind of washing line in the shower area so that we can hang up wet swimming stuff to dry after going to the beach. Otherwise, everything else was excellent!

I was stunned by the style and elegance of Trevose Harbour House; having returned to St. Ives for the first time in over 30 years, I had reservations about a B&B and am delighted to say this place has replaced and fear with delight. Bright, airy and spacious rooms with small additions such as luxury towels and bath amenities, fine cotton sheets and a breakfast created by a true Chef leave guests wanting for nothing. Of course, service must be there and Angela and Olivier make you feel welcome, without intruding into your privacy, from the moment you arrive. It is a perfect place to relax and explore St. Ives.

Tips:

Room 5 is detached from the main house and offers total privacy and your own little deck to relax in. We found Porthmear Beach Cafe excellent, Porthminster is nice too, but we thought a little less of the food than the imaginative dishes created at Porthmear.

Unfortunately we only stayed one night which I wish it was longer! We were met by Jess who was amazing and friendly we felt so relaxed and at ease. The products were very high end we felt like we were at home. Angela and Olivier have done an amazing job and you can honestly see they are hands on and involved with their business. Breakfast was amazing and the presentation as well as preparation was better than any 5 star hotel. I have stayed in many hotels and non of them have ever made my jaw drop. We will definitely be going back for a longer stay next time and take friends! Very highly recommend place to stay with breathtaking views and scenery.

A gorgeous place to stay. We loved the crisp blues and white... The bedroom and bathroom befitted a 5* hotel but with added charm. The hosts were most welcoming and so organised about seeking out how to help ahead of arrival and also once we arrived. They very kindly organised an emergency suit dry-cleaning for my husband. The breakfast is totally delicious and not to be missed. we will definitely be back.

Tips:

Porthminster Cafe and Kitchen are both excellent. We love the Barbara Hepworth museum and garden. The coastal walk is great right to the estuary and then come back by train!

Tips:

Sit under cover at Porthmeor cafe as seagulls splattered us on both occasions we were there. However the food was good and fabulous sunset. Blas burgers good for a quick meal but not a place to spend the evening. Porthminster kitchen was really good, staff very friendly and attentive. The loft great for starters and main courses but not so good for dessert.

We had a lovely stay for what was a special occasion. Thanks so much for helping it make it so. The '4' re facilities, to explain, is a minor point but I found your comfy chairs (both in the reception area and the bedroom) to be quite low to the ground and not that supportive for the back and, hence, not that comfortable to sit on for any length of time e.g. to read a paper. It is a very minor point and would not stop me returning - just a personal view.

Tips:

We loved the Blas for the burger and the restaurant for Jess' birthday was excellent, other than 2 somewhat ordinary (and expensive) starters. Rest of food and service was excellent though.

Trevose Harbour House is without doubt in my top 5 places to stay in the UK and if I'm really honest - in the World! It's the attention to detail that you notice right from the beginning....... The lovely welcome, the peaceful atmosphere, and then the rooms....... The accommodation is spotless and fresh and beautiful and "there are plugs" - I know it sounds silly but so many places we stay have no where to plug anything in!! The Neal's Yard products are a lovely touch and I have come home a convert! Angela and Olivier are honestly the bests hosts we have ever met - truly inspirational!! The way they are reflects on their beautiful hotel - you won't want to leave!! Trevose Harbour House is not just a hotel its a little retreat filled with good things - peace, rest, beautiful food, (Olivier's breakfasts are legendary) and a sense of wellbeing. They look after their hotel with a really great team including "Super Jess" so you know they will look after their guests! One tip - if you can book for more than two nights - do - it will be worth every penny! XXXX

Tips:

There are lots of things to do in St. Ives but just walking along the many beaches is one of the best! We loved the Hepworth Museum and The Tate and there is a lovely cafe with views in The Tate. Our favourite restaurant is The Porthmeor Beach Cafe - book to eat in a "Pod" if you can - they look out to sea and are heated.

We visit St Ives every year and always stay at Trevose Harbour House. It's a luxury B&B that deserves all its awards, and in our experience nothing else comes close in terms of comfort and style, both of which have been consistently maintained since day one.

Tips:

A couple of well-loved restaurants have closed since we last visited. The Porthminster Beach Café has great views and modern menu centred on seafood. Café Pasta on the harbour is another option where food and service when we went was good. The extension to Tate St Ives is a great addition that justifies a visit however as always the best thing about St Ives are the opportunities for walking out of the town and taking in the countryside and fabulous vistas.

Trevose Harbour House is wonderful in every respect. The location is fantastic, with upper front rooms overlooking the harbour. The rooms and ensuites, which are serviced in the morning and the evening – with the added touch of a sweet treat at the end of the day – are beautifully designed and furnished. The breakfasts are utterly delicious and exquisitely crafted. The proprietors and the staff they employ are helpful, attentive and warm.

Tips:

Porthmoer Cafe on Porthmoer Beach serves delicious tapas. The Porthminster Cafe on Porthminster beach provides another beach-side eating experience, and the Porthminster Kitchen overlooking the harbour is excellent. The Tate Gallery, Barbara Hepworth Museum and Leach Pottery are all musts.

Clearly staff are well treated: the guest experience is stellar. Every small detail is delightfully attended. From the turn down service to the chocolate by the bed to the beautiful soaps in the luxurious bathroom--gourmet breakfast served by an attentive staff. Great coffee. The decor is stylish and hyper clean. This is a five star hotel masquerading as a guest house.

Tips:

The restaurant choices recommended by the hosts are very good. Our favourites are: Porthmoer Beach Cafe, a fabulously run restaurant with an antipodean flair, delicious food with nods to Indonesia and the Mediterranean using local produce. The view over the surfers beach will seduce you to want to surf. Don't miss the amazing salads and finish with their outstanding lemon meringue pie. Black Rock Restaurant has astoundingly delicious well prepared food using mostly local produce with cuisine that plays with traditional British cooking cleverly. Simple casual calm atmosphere. Portminster Beach has a slightly dressier feeling than the other eateries but is by no means formal. Local food gets Asain influence here skill fully. Go early enough to see the exquisite beach view and, if you can, sit in the second room built entirely of glass.

We really enjoyed our stay at Trevose Harbour House. It is a beautiful, boutique guest house in a lovely location. We loved the minimalist style of the rooms, which looked so fresh in white and blue and complemented the fabulous view of the sea and town. There were thoughtful little touches in the room such as hot water bottles and a pin cushion with sewing kit. Also lovely Neal's Yard products in the bathroom. The breakfast was delicious and included home-made granola as well as cooked breakfast, cereals, fruit etc. Angela was very welcoming and offered to book our car parking on a parking app for us, which was really helpful.

Tips:

26th September 2017:

I need to start this review with a disclaimer. Neither my wife nor I are related to the owners of Trevose Harbour House, we do not have any equity in this business, and in fact met the owners for the very first time when we checked in. I should add that I personally was very apprehensive about staying there as I am very particular about hotels and have only ever stayed in one other B&B. Well what a fabulous surprise! Located smack, bang in the middle of St. Ives, it is a beautiful white house converted into a six room (or so) boutique property. We were welcomed by Angela and her husband Olivier, the owners, as though we were great friends staying at their own house, which in fact it is. Our room was on the very top floor with the most incredible views of the town, harbor and the Aegean blue sea beyond. Angela has decorated the whole place in white and blue so you feel like you are on sunny Santorini rather than the Cornish Coast. Angela has another career as an interior designer if she wants. On this five week trip we have stayed in suites in famous, and very expensive castles and hotels but this honestly was by far our favorite. The room and bathroom were spotless, the lighting superb, and everywhere you can see the passion that has gone into everything, which brings us to breakfast prepared and served by Olivier who could easily get at least one or two Michelin Stars if he ever opened a restaurant. In this small six room establishment we had our best breakfasts of the whole trip in terms of variety and certainly in terms of quality. If it sounds like I’m raving then give it a try yourself and you will see I am only scratching the surface. Travel is our passion and we will treasure our time here.

Tips:

If you can get it the room on the top floor is fabulous with stunning views. Black Rock is a great restaurant. Don't miss the Minac Theater and visit the tiny town of Mousehole.

We loved everything about Trevose Harbour House: - the email correspondence beforehand, giving information and directions and offering to make reservations, - the warm welcome on arrival (even putting our wet walking boots in the airing cupboard to dry) - the beautiful interior, everything in lovely whites and blues - the breathtaking view over the harbour from our bedroom window, which seemed to change hour by hour, depending on the tide being in or out - the fantastic shower, lovely thick towels and neals yard toiletries - the absolutely fantastic breakfast, with its own menu card. We really enjoyed the full English breakfast and omelette with herbs, beautifully cooked and served - The lovely location in St. Ives, peaceful, yet close to the bustling centre of the town, full of beautiful shops and exciting places to eat - But most of all the warm hospitality given by Angela, Oliver and Jess, making us feel like treasured guests or even friends, eventhough they had never met us before. All in all, we would certainly recommend staying here, you won’t regret it.

Tips:

We took the train to Lelant and walked back to St. Ives, which was a lovely walk. Had good meals at Porthminster Kitchen and the Firehouse. St. Ives is a lovely town to just stroll around, with beautiful shops, a fantastic harbour and lots of places to eat and/or have something to drink.

For cleanliness there should be a 6! It was like being looked after by fairies...everything in our room done for us without seeing anyone doing it!

Tips:

We can strongly recommend Cellar Bistro for dinner, and for the best sandwiches on the planet, head for Cornish Deli! Sunset at Porthmeor beach for romantics, and see the seals in the harbour when the fishing boats come in...

This small, fine hotel is one of the best in Cornwall and, moreover, in England - it simply deserves 5 stars! In the middle of St. Ives with view to the sea, with one of the best breakfasts in England: delicious, light, creative. The young hosts, Angela and Olivier, give you a special welcome feeling, the staff is first-class, wishes are fulfilled. The house is modern, aesthetically and straightforwardly furnished. Beautiful details and attention make it a perfect stay. Claudia

Really beautiful hotel. Excellent attention to detail including the fresh water and sweets in our room in the evening. The breakfast was delicious! The only one feedback point is that there are only a limited amount of reserved parking spaces for guests at the train station. This makes it tricky in peak season when all are taken. Your only option is to be patient for a space in a very busy train station car park. So I recommend to book early (if coming by car) esp in peak season!

Tips:

Plenty of fine restaurants (recommended by staff). Tate St Ives is a must (maybe biased as both are artists)!!! St Ives is beautiful but will be a different experience out of peak season (less crowded). If you can - visit in the quieter months.

A truly lovely spot to spend time in, the location is perfect just park your car and then spend the rest of your stay exploring St Ives on foot . We were meet by the lovely Jess who helped us settle into our rooms, the hot lavender faceclothes were very welcome after a long journey ! The rooms are gorgeous and extremely comfortable, the interior design of the hotel was excellent and the colours used reflected the colours of St Ives! Olivier's breakfasts are superb ! The Trevose is a truly lovely place and we would highly recommend for that little piece of luxury you all deserve.

Tips:

We spent Monday morning with Dawn a local guide , just meet her outside The Guildhall at 11.00 am and she takes you on a wonderful walking tour of St Ives where you learn a little of the history of this unique town. She was wonderful and shares her passion of history with you ! The Tate if you are fans of modern art and the Barbera Hepworth gardens .

It was love at first sight with THH - our stay was absolutely perfect! The room was spotlessly clean and so well appointed with the impeccable mix of modern and vintage accessories with quality fittings not to mention Neal's Yard toiletries. Wonderful and unexpected touches such as a turn down service and hand made chocolate treats in your room. Angela and Olivier have totally exceeded our expectations on every level. They are engaging, caring, creative, thoughtful - the consummate professionals and perfect hosts. There was nothing they could not do for you. Angela's and Olivier's taste is just impeccable it shows in every part of the hotel. The team who help are delightful and make you feel so welcome. The hotel is run like clockwork and smells so welcoming. The breakfast joyously prepared and cooked by Olivier is the best I've had in any hotel I've ever stayed in. A picture perfect plate of organic and locally sourced food - it was just the most delightful start to the day. As you can tell, it was such a pleasure to stay with you and wish we has stayed longer.

Tips:

St Ives is an eclectic mix of new and old and there is something for everyone no matter what age Porthminster Beach and the café bar were fab as well as the Porthminster Kitchen in town with great cocktails. Portmeor Cafe has lovely small plates and is sun drenched all day.

Trevose Harbour House is a beautiful boutique hotel located on a very pretty street close to Porthminster beach and the harbour. We were greeted by the delightful Jess who made us very welcome and offered us a cool, refreshing drink after a very long journey. She showed us to our gorgeous room which smelled absolutely divine and was so beautifully and tastefully appointed. There were so many well thought out and very personal touches and the blue and white colour scheme throughout the hotel was lovely. After a good night's sleep we had a delicious breakfast cooked and served to perfection. I especially loved Olivier's home-made granola and he should definitely enter the Dalemain Marmalade Awards with his gorgeous dark elixir! We loved Trevose Harbour House and didn't want to leave! It's a very special place with wonderful, welcoming and warm hosts ......

Tips:

While my husband enjoyed his 4 day painting course at the St Ives School of Painting, I explored the narrow streets and galleries, drank flat whites, visited the Barbara Hepworth Museum & Garden, the Bernard Leach Pottery & the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens near Penzance. I walked along the paths taking in the amazing sea views and taking photos of the beautiful wild flowers. We ate delicious, smart fish & chips at Porthminster Cafe, had the tastiest fish and tapas deserts in a cosy booth at Porthmeor Cafe, enjoyed the atmosphere and lovely food at Cellar Bistro on Fore Street and went to Blas for the best burgers ever! Coffee & cake with a view in the Tate cafe is a 'must' too!

Everything from the food (thank you so much for helping with my dietary needs), the decor, the art was incredible and your attention to detail is beyond amazing along with you both. I mentioned to Angela already the suggestion of a bath mat. I didnt mention that I also I hit my head 2x on the low ceiling beams dont know if any discreet padding possible but if so it's a thought. The first day was fine, we were injury free, the second b/w the shower slips and the beams were tough on me and I came home a bit worse for the wear, though we otherwise still had a wonderful time. A lovely welcoming B&B in the heart of St Ives. Angela and Olivier are welcoming from the moment you book with a friendly email offering their help and advice. The house is beautiful, finished in calming blues and whites, very fitting for the seaside location! We stayed in room two, which has an extraordinarily large bathroom but with no compromise to space in the equally good sized bedroom. The shower was incredible, made more enjoyable by the neals yard toiletries. Every night we returned to a little sweet treat in our bedroom and a bottle of filtered water, which was just one of the many nice touches. The breakfast was awesome. The homemade granola has made our home cereal quite disappointing. The hot menu is varied and offers lots of choice from a few dishes, with yummy results coming out the kitchen. The only challenges are choosing and moving afterwards! We were able to arrange parking in advance, which is certainly an advantage in St Ives. we wouldn't hesitate to return to Trevose if we find ourselves down that way again, our stay felt a real treat

We liked the attention to detail. 5 * experience and will return. I loved the cleanliness and simplicity. Loved the Neal's Yard products. Loved the shower. When cleaning the bathroom, you need to remember to turn off the shower head to the bath after cleaning the bath, to prevent the person running a bath from getting a soak - boy does that shower head fly! Breakfast - yes! Nice products, well-sourced, cooked and presented well.

Tips:

Fly a kite! Remember your sun cream. Walk to Lelant and get the return train - such fun!

Would not hesitate to recommend Trevose Harbour for a peaceful, quiet and cosy stay. Angela and Olivier are excellent hosts. Breakfasts are sumptious and nothing is ever too much trouble. Only problem is that we don't want to tell others about you as you will be overbooked!! No seriously, this is a quaint boutique hotel which we would love to recommend to all. Come and stay here if you ever visit St Ives!

Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were unique and memorable. You create a house party atmosphere which is delightful. The decor is so fresh and the rooms are special.

All the restaurants which you recommended were very good. We loved the coast walk from Zenner and lunch afterwards at the Tinners Arms. Get up early and go to watch the sun rise on Porthminster beach.

We loved our stay at Trevose House - warm, cosy and welcoming with lovely fresh white and blue decor, thoughtful touches throughout and delightful styling. Everything was of a very high standard, the food at breakfast was delicious, the service was friendly and very efficient. We loved the honesty bar, very welcome after making it back to the house on very wet and blustery November nights! A great base for exploring St ives and the surrounding coastal paths.

Tips:

We really enjoyed walking on the coastal path - good footwear and protective gear are essential but it is well worth it. The walk to Lelant was lovely, with a welcome lunch at Scarlet Wine and a sweet train trip back to St Ives. We also walked to Gurnard's Head, a good four hour hike partly on the cliff path - spectacular and a little bit hairy in places! Lunch there at the end of our walk was just what we needed.

We had the most wonderful stay. Thank you so much! Everyone looked after us so beautifully, it really was very special. A massive thank you to Olivier for Nellos birthday cake it was delicious! Also Louise was a complete gem. The facilities were fantastic, particularly our shower and the small lovely gestures were so appreciated -- brownie in our room and book marks placed in our books. I can't wait to come back. It really is a magical place that you have made, Angela and Olivier!

Tips:

Barbara Hepworth museum, walking out of St Ives towards Zennor (even though we didn't quite make it - next time!), food at the tea rooms on the harbour (chilled service and yummy food), also eat as much mackerel as you can stomach so tasty!

A super welcome with a cup tea and bags taken to my room set the tone for the remainder if my stay. Lovely house. Excellent, friendly staff and owners who try really hard to help you with everything. First class breakfast. Really handy location, two minutes walk from the station and ten minutes to any where else you might like to go in St Ives.

Tips:

St Ives is a great place just to stroll wherever your feet take you, on or off the beaten track. There is so much to see. As a solo traveler, one of the less enjoyable aspects is eating alone in restaurants. Full marks to the Seafood Cafe; great, fresh food and all staff very welcoming and caring. The room was so lovely, and the view was gorgeous. The bathroom was kept clean and the Neil's Yard products smelt amazing. Great location as its close to both Porthminster beach and the town. Loved the breakfasts, and the staff were super super friendly, overall just a fabulous experience! Thank you all so much, we will definitely be comifng back.

Tips:

Porthmeor Cafe was really nice for lunch, as was The Balcony in the harbour, and Blas Burger, which is a stone's throw from the B&B. The coastal walk from St. Ives to Zennor is lovely, you don't have to complete the whole walk as the views are great from the start. I would also recommend doing a ghost walk one night, we went with Ian Addicoat's tour and it was really interesting to get a bit of history about the town (and spooky places to avoid/explore).

Superb stay for our anniversary, perfect level of attentiveness, great advice on what to do and where to eat in St Ives. The breakfasts offered a fabulous choice with several more unusual options as well as more traditional fare, everything we had was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. We stayed in the top floor room overlooking the sea, stunning views, great furnishing and well worth the extra money. Take some binoculars!

31st August 2016:

We spent 3 nights at Trevose Harbour House, on the busiest weekend of the year for St Ives. Where do I start in terms of how exceptional of a weekend we had. From the welcome emails, with every necessary instruction, to emails before our arrival getting us ready and asking us if we need help to book restaurants. We were excited even by the promise of what was to be. Upon arrival and throughout our stay the people there (not just Angela and Oli but the whole crew) were amazing. Always with a smile, and providing great information and service. Oli's breakfast was yummy every day and plentiful! The rooms were beautiful. The whole house is perfectly designed and taken care off, we found Oli scrapping the floors one afternoon to keep them in their perfect shape :-) It was one of the best weekends we've ever had and the place and crew were to thank for that. It was my wife's birthday present (the weekend away) and Oli prepared a fantastic cake surprise for her. Every touch was amazing. This is what I wrote on TripAdvisor and definitely meant it all. Amazing stay! Thank you

Tips:

I would definitely recommend doing the coastal walk to Lelant! It's a good appetite builder :-) Food wise I would recommend Porthminster Beach Cafe for a lunch/brunch. I would definitely also recommend Alba and Porthminster Kitchen. Taking a short drive to Minack Theater and then to Mousehole for an afternoon tea is a great mini escape from St Ives.

Restaurants to book must include Portgwidden Beach Cafe--very good food and fantastic service--and Portmeor Beach Cafe which has a tapas menu if you do not want a big meal or are sharing with others. My partner and I had a great time staying at Trevose. From the location, to the room (we stayed in the harbour view room and the view was fantastic), the breakfast, and above all Angela and Olivier's hospitality, we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Many thanks, Rachael and David

What a stay! We had 2 lovely nights in room number five, a beautifully finished, self-contained room with all the comforts of home. Comfortable bed, large shower room, dressing table etc. All the staff were welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast cooked by Oliver was delicious and set us up for the whole day and Angela and the other ladies were fantastic. From help with parking through to booking restaurants, nothing was too much trouble and we were treated like royalty throughout our stay. We would whole hardheartedly recommend this room for a honeymoon or a special holiday. We will defiantly be back!

Tips:

Put on sturdy footwear and walk to Lelant - there are beautiful views! Stop at the beach cafe on the way and visit St Ulny Church, catch the train back to St Ives from Lelant. A meal in the Seafood cafe is a must - book in advance. 'The Queens' pub also do lovely food. The sea and sand are beautifully clean so come prepared to sit on the beach and admire the Mediterranean-like views.

Room 4 was a dream, with its gorgeous view. Loved the decor. On our second night the sea mist had cooled temperatures down somewhat, but on our first night it was very warm, and a fan in the room would have helped. Delicious healthy breakfasts much appreciated. You both made us feel very welcome with your personal and professional service - thank you! Your attention to detail was evident everywhere, and we loved what you are creating. We wish you both every success!

Tips:

Being so close to the station, it's a great idea to come to Trevose House by train. Both the Porthmeor Beach cafe and the Seafood Cafe were lovely dining options. Loved exploring the art galleries and walking round the Island. We would have loved to do the walk to Levant Saltings to Scarlet Wines and catch the train back- we drove up the coast on our last morning and could see it would be a great walk- something for next time!

Amazing........our 2nd visit and everything was as we remembered. Nothing is too much trouble, stunning rooms, impeccable service and great location. Breakfast is to die for and their hospitality to assist, make reservations and basically anything to make your stay as good as they can. Full 5* and this is definitely somewhere you should seek out at least once in your life.......or in our case, twice, and probably again. Thank you for making our stay so lovely.

Tips:

Great walk to Zenna Cafe about 7 miles, a little up and down and wear decent shoes. Honour fish and chip restaurant on the front is a must.....certainly worth queuing for. The Loft and Black Rock equally produce stunning food and worth a try. Lastly.....the beaches are stunning. Oh and be very weary of eating your pasty on the front as the sea gulls will rob you of your lunch if you are not careful.

Our stay at Travoise Harbour House was a delight from start to finish. Our room was superb with wonderful harbour views. The interiors are stylish, thoughtful and luxurious without losing character, charm or practicality. The choice and quality of breakfast was the best we have ever had around the world. The homemade granola and marmalade was delicious. Parking can be arranged and they will even take your car so your holiday can start the moment you arrive. There were no issues, no negatives, everything was perfect. The staff and owners were friendly and helpful but discreet. Many thoughtful little touches made our stay more delightful - too many to list but needless to say we will return and we will certainly recommend this gem to our fiends and family.

So enjoyed our stay - we totally relaxed after two days. We felt thoroughly spoilt from the moment Louise carried our bags down and to the detail of refreshing our bedroom when we popped out for a supper and walk. We are missing our evening nibbles, loved coming back to unusual teas and iced water with healthy bits like Chia seeds in. Olivier and Angela have indeed exceeded all our expectations - thank you.

Tips:

Loved the hike up to Bernard Leach and over to Barbara Hepworth's Garden, gallery and workshop. We really loved the staff in Porthminster Kitchen but didn't enjoy the atmosphere (or lack of it) at The Loft. Be careful about so many galleries being closed on Sundays.

Angela and Olly are very friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the area. The breakfasts are substantial and imaginative (never taken photos of brekkie before!). Coffee superb - and we're very fussy when it comes to coffee!

Tips:

We had 3 nights - ate at Porthminster Kitchen , Alba and The Hidden Kitchen. All good. Wish we had booked Porthminster Cafe - ask for a window table on terrace. Did amazing coastal path walk from St Ives to Lelant - beautiful seascapes. We ended our walk at Scarlet Wines on Olly's recommendation - which was simple but delicious Mediterranean food. Might be useful to pack earplugs as seagulls can be rather noisy - especially if you like the window open.

Marvelous views of the harbour from the upper rooms. Angela and Olivier are dynamic and engaging, and wonderful hosts, and every member of staff is excellent.

Tips:

The tapas restaurant on Porthmeor Beach is fantastic - and overlooks the wonderful west facing beach. Great at all times of the day - with the bonus of the sunset in the evening. Porthminster Kitchen is very good – and overlooks the harbour. Barbara Hepworth house and garden gallery is inspiring. The Tate - when it's open (hopefully, in 2017)- is brilliant. What a gem!!! Absolutely redefines how an upmarket, boutique bed and breakfast should be. Everything about it from the facilities to the minute details of design and service, especially the breakfast, are better than excellent! Location is ideal in a quaint lane set just back from the beach, in the centre of St Ives. Everything is close at hand. Perfection doesn't come with a bargain price, but this wins our award as the best bed and breakfast experience, including value for money…… ever! In fact we commented that it compared very favourably to our stay in the Gritti Palace in Venice…and that’s saying something!! From the booking stage, Angela was extremely helpful. She accommodated our requests, and gave useful advice about the best way to get to the hotel. The level of personal attention is what makes this place very special. Knowing we would arrive relatively early, and before the scheduled check-in time, they had our room on a priority clean and it was ready for us on arrival. We stayed in Room 5, although the word ‘room’ doesn’t really do it justice – suite would reflect the overall standard of presentation more appropriately. The décor and furnishings are elegant, classy and very tasteful. The attention to detail and added extras make all the difference to how valued you feel as a guest. From having welcome refreshments at check in, a personalised note in the room to great amenities like pristine white linens, plenty of storage space, an en-suite with a rain shower - stocked with full-size organic Neal’s Yard toiletries, plus dressing gowns, coffee and tea, and bottled water. Trevose House even has turndown service with small, hand-made chocolates and biscuits as a special treat! Angela and Olli are such a friendly, caring couple, making you feel welcome and very much at home! They have a very special gift of being able to know what you’d need to make your stay special, always ready with information on local beauty spots or restaurant recommendations. They'll even book tables for you. Their small team of staff is equally friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fantastic - as previous reviewers have said - no different to the hippest place in London. They use organic local produce whenever possible, with great variety which caters for all tastes. Aside from a continental buffet stocked with delicious fresh croissants, fruit, juices, yoghurt and every kind of muesli topping you can think of…plus Olli’s home- made granola which is scrummy, they also offer a hot menu that wouldn't look out of place in any Michelin Star restaurant…and it's tasty, too! Olivier is an excellent chef, and we were greeted every morning with ‘What would you like me to cook for you?’…genuinely said as if you were the first and only guest he had!! Highly recommended indeed…..and yes we booked for 2017 before we left!!
