What a charming, updated B&B! The room and public area were cute and beautifully decorated, the owner was very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home, great variety of breakfast foods! Several restaurants in walking distance, supermarket closeby. We highly recommend this B&B and will return if we're going back to Cornwall!

Tips:

If you are planning to eat in St Ives, especially on a Friday or Saturday night, it is advisable that you book in advance. We found it almost impossible to find a restaurant on the Saturday evening, which had any vacancies!

Beautiful well run B&B, the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in was beautifully decorated, clean and perfect for my trip. The B&B is brilliantly located with easy access to beaches and places to eat.

Tips:

Carbis Bay beach is just beautiful and I found slightly quieter than some of the other beaches. The coastal path walk to St Ives is beautiful and well worth doing

Adrian our host was just great couldn’t do enough for us greeted us and showed us to our rooms and around the B&B He told us about the area and were best places to visit. Breakfast was great and room was comfy :) Can’t wait to return :)

Tips:

Great spot to local places with St Ives a short bus ride away or a nice walk down into centre! Beach across road from B&B is only a 10-15 min walk all worth trips too. Many restaurants in St Ives spoilt for choice and a good local pub down road same side as B&B

Friendly. Clean. Would stay again. Dietary needs catered for, but non dairy yoghurt would be a bonus. Coffee was good. Wifi worked well. Flannel in the bathroom was nice. We think that shower gel would be a good addition although we were happy to buy our own. Great!

Tips:

Porthminster beach cafe is an excellent restaurant. The suggestions in the B and B are worth following- we had a good meal at the nearby tapas/italian. Coastal walk to St Ives is relatively easy with good views- better than using the road. Buses are regular and useful rather than taking the car into StIves. The Tate and Barbara Hepworth are top visits. The harbour and the old town with narrow streets are atmospheric. Further afield we liked Mousehole

Lovely place to stay, owner is very welcoming and provides you with any information necessary. Our room had a beautiful view of the sea and was comfortable. Although no full English breakfast, the continental breakfast choice was more than adequate. Really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend.

Tips:

The b&b is situated at cardiacs bay, just outside of st ives. Walk down to cardiacs bay as it’s beautiful and there’s a coastal path to st ives. Landsend isn’t far and makes a great day out. We went at the end of our trip but discovered that they offer you a free pass to go back within 7 days. Once in that area, go to see the Minac theatre (but book a show in advance of going), it’s an outdoor theatre. The beach next to there is beautiful too. Finish your day with a visit to st michaels mount.

Was a great location, being so close to the train station. Very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great and delicious. Adrian was very welcoming and helpful with directions and local knowledge. My only suggested improvement (very minor) would be if the shower was a bit more powerful, higher water pressure. But this is very specific and picky of me and didn't impact the overall experience at all.

Tips:

Would recommend the Caffe Pasta in St Ives. Was great food and service and east to get to, with the train station being so close.

The ground floor family room called Granny Smith was perfect for us. Comfy beds, it has a dining table inside so we could have breakfast in our room if we want. Great for our autistic son, who can sometimes be difficult in public. Though we also sat in the dining room outside because it's so lovely and homey. Adrian was very friendly and welcoming. The continental breakfast has plenty of choices. All round wonderful place to stay! Definitely would recommend. Thanks, Adrian!

Tips:

There's a public kids playground just across the road, we didn't get a chance to go, but it's a nice addition. A Tesco close by too, if you need anything. The b&b is not too far from St. Ives by car. You can walk the hilly roads as well and soak up the beautiful surroundings.

Wonderful B&B, excellent location and fantastic staff. We were made to feel so welcome, given recommendations for activities and places to visit. Would recommend to absolutely everyone.

Tips:

A pack of things to do in Cornwall is included in the room. Excellent idea that gave us ideas for what to do during our trip. Newquay zoo is excellent, not far to travel and you can return as many times as you like within 7 days so is excellent value for money.

Adrian is a great host with a lot of local knowledge. The room downstairs was great with an extra key for the other door! Easy to get in and out as the car was parked around the corner.

Tips:

Do not drive into St Ives at night lol, the traffic, lack of parking places and small roads make it difficult centrally. If you do, parking is available just past the harbour, £3 for the whole evening / night. Different local beaches within easy reach.

Fantastic stay, am going to re book something for early next year in the coming weeks, the room was only recently refurbished and had a nice sea view and its own entrance. Adrian could not have been a better host.

Tips:

La Casita is a nearby Mediterranean restaurant and the food and ambience was superb, there is a nice pub doing good food and local ales only a five minute walk away, regular busses to Penzance, St Ives and Truro (every half hour), local supermarkets/post office within 200 yards and Carbis beach too.

Especially loved the sea view from our room as well as breakfast which needs a special mention. We were surprised by the excellent choices though a buffet plenty of choices including yogurts and a variety of juices and pastries. Lovely 1 week stay, very reasonably priced in a great location for links to St ives without the hustle and bustle of the town centre. Adrian, the owner couldn’t help us enough, gave us some brilliant recommendations for attractions and things to do, places to eat and drink and made us feel really welcome. Rooms were cosy and clean and breakfast was simple but with good choice and was very nice. Overall we had a great week and would definitely stay again!

Tips:

Best restaurant we ate at was La Casita in Carbis bay, Spanish and Italian restaurant 300 yards from the B & B. For things to do would definitely recommend healeys cider farm (but next time we’ll do the factory tour) and the Minack theatre where For £5 you can tour the outdoor theatre built into the cliff face at Porthcurno and on a Sunday afternoon they do run throughs of the new show to start on the Monday night for the next week. For the best views, lizard point and St Michaels Mount are a must!

When on arrival greeted by the owner(Adrian) who made us feel very welcome & made us a pot of tea. Room was clean with a double & single bed,tea & coffee making facility's, en-suite bathroom & table for eating breakfast which was a nice touch! Breakfast was of a continental style with cheese, ham, tomatoes, crossiants, cereals,Juice etc so plenty to c hoose from! Would recommend anyone to stay as made very welcome & felt comfortable!

Tips:

Would recommend the Atlantic bay for something more reasonable in price for something to eat or the Badger Inn @ lelant for good ales & reasonable priced & selection of food. Would recommend taking the bus(which runs regularly) to local places St Ives etc but not to far afield as entails alot of changes of buses!Nice walk down to Carbis Bay Beach but don't try to drive down as can be awkward & car park small & very expensive (£10!!!)

This is a lovely B & B in an ideal location. The guy who owns Green Apple is really nice much better than previous B & B I have stayed in. He provides a lovely breakfast and tea and coffee in the room which is always appreciated. The only downside for us was that it was very hot in the room and due to the outside noise it wasnt ideal to have the window open, so a small fan would have been a real benefit. Other than that you cant go wrong staying here.

Tips:

Cardis Bay is way expensive for food and drink although we did have a lovely meal in the Italian just round the corner to the Green Apple. St Ives which you can easily get to on the coastal path in around 45 minutes has some lovely eateries which are still not cheap but cheaper than the local places.

Adrian is a great host and very friendly. The room was very clean and the bed very comfy medium/soft mattress. My only gripe would be the water pressure in the shower but it was manageable. Great location just outside St Ives (25 min walk with some lovely scenery) Medium sized Tesco 10 mins walk and late night shop 3 doors down. Good continental Breakfast and good wifi connection.

St Ives 25 min walk away or 5 min drive. Plenty of parking in the town. Parking available at side of B&B if you get there quick enough (space for 3 cars). Sea view from Gala room. Newquay is 40 mins away and Lands End around the same. Nice place to stay!

Tips:

Don't go to Carbis Bay beach. The development work there has made it a truly horrendous experience, unless you're prepared to spend a lot of money in the restaurant or scramble down the rocks at the other end of the beach for an independent experience. Not recommended for anyone but the super rich or very hardy! Beautiful beach ruined by money grabbing hotel. Cornwall has many others which are a much more pleasant. Try Porthminster!

We found a very pleasant but cheap & cheerful Harbourside Cafe for Fish & Chips supper. We even found a space to park. needed google map on smart phone to navigate through town

Hosts are very friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect for exploring the south of Cornwall. Our room was cosy and comfortable. The breakfast is a cold buffet including eggs, ham, cheese, toast, cereals, yoghurt, juices, fruit and pastries. Some of this is available all day so you can have toast and marmite just before bed if you wish. Excellent value for money.

Tips:

There is a good spanish / italian restaurant very close by for evening meals.

Just perfect. Lovely room and the host was fantastic - extremely welcoming and attentive but not overbearing. We will certainly be back. Thank you so much for having us!

Tips:

Location great. Carbis Bay station a short walk away or you can take the coastal path into St Ives which is breathtaking. The route recommended by the owner was lovely. No issues with parking - just left our car at the b and b - loads of free parking on the road. Caught train back from town as little feet getting tired (our son!) £2 for all of us on train! Caught bus night before £9!!! - more fool us so recommend the train.

Hurrah! The owners really care about their guests. We arrived on our motorcycle, parked it in the private parking area, and were greeted a lovely welcome from the owners. A great start which got better still. Our room was warm, spotlessly clean, well set out and decorated, and the shower cubicle looked almost new, with endless hot water. The continental breakfast was included.....and was the best we have ever had. The selection of food was extensive, with everything set out with care. The owner was attentive throughout. Our experience was VERY positive, and we will return. So then, good price, lovely room, great service from people who care. Cant ask for more.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Green Apple. Our room was spotless and had everything we needed. The beds were super comfy and we had a fantastic view of Carbis Bay. The Green Apple is perfectly positioned for getting into St Ives either by walking the coastal path or hopping on the train and we walked the coastal path the other way into Hayle. Adrian was a great host, very friendly and helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend to anyone and we will certainly be back!

Tips:

The food in The Gannet Inn just down the road was exceptional. The coastal path into St Ives or the opposite way into Hayle is beautiful. The train station is just down the hill to get about if you want to leave the car.

Adrian was very welcoming and is a good point of contact for local info and attractions. Breakfast was plentiful and served in a lovely bright room facing the sea.

Tips:

there are not very many places to eat or pop to the pub here but La Cavista Tapa restaurant is very close and serves really good food - booking is probably advisable in the high season. We didn't miss a cooked breakfast at all. Location was good - we walked to the pub and local restaurant for dinner in the evening. Would definitely recommend.

A very satisfactory and pleasing place to stay. Comfortable beds and plenty of places to store 'stuff' right down to proper wooden coathangers and a sensible bedside clock!. The attention to detail was delightful and welcome. The continental breakfast was more than addiquet. Adrian, the owner, was attentive and helpful. Go and see for yourself.

Tips:

A big plus was a) parking and b) within walking distance of a first class Spanish restaurant 'La Casita'. Where we had two fantastic meals. Both fish dishes from the 'specials' board, accompanied by large glasses of excellent Reocha!

good directions, so easy to find. Plenty of car parking (important in this area|). Warm welcoming room on a chilly wet night. No fault to find with cleanliness or facilities. Continental breakfast but plenty of choice and plenty of it.

Tips:

Easy drive or pleasant coastal walk to the newly reopened tate gallery. Plenty of places to eat out in St Ives. I recommend the Porthmeor beach cafe in front of the tate. Good unpretentious food at reasonable prices. Pleasant staff and the the surfers falling off their boards to entertain you as you eat.

Always a great welcome when we return. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated, but not the biggest you will stay in, but you only sleep there so more than adequate...... The help yourself breakfast is a must, with plenty of tea & coffee on request. Some off street parking available, along with plenty of on street parking if full. Overall very difficult, if not impossible to find fault!

Tips:

Ideal location for Carbis Bay and it's great beaches. St Ives is a pleasant walk (but a bit hilly!) and Hayle and other local towns like Penzance are a short drive away.

No fussing about by staff so you can get on with your stay. Local knowledge of area is good. Full refurb on property so all the sockets-taps-doors-tv's etc all work. My particular room was warm and inviting (was here in winter) with all I could need for a one night stay. As the dining area was open to the rest of the house I could get breakfast early before I started work (field service engineer) the morning I was leaving. Although price is not an issue (on expenses) the price was well below the area average, however this was not reflected in the service provided.

Lovely welcoming host. Everything you would need in a bed and breakfast. It's an older building so stairways and passages are narrow. Rooms are tight but adequate. I would definitely recommend the Green Apple to anyone who is looking for a well priced Base where you will be made to feel very welcome.

Tips:

The Green apple is well place on the main road. I would advise anyone to leave their car at the Green Apple and bus, train or walk into St Ives. The walk down to Carbis Bay is only about 10 mins allow a lot longer for the walk back up.

A warm welcome from owner Adrian on arrival. Room was a decent size, with a comfortable bed and a small but perfectly adequate shower room. Everything was spotless and well-maintained. The place we stayed is great and my family and I enjoyed spending 3 nights at the Green Apple B&B. Adrian is extremely nice and friendly. Our room, Honeycrisp, was very clean. As a suggestion, it would be nice to have instant hot chocolate bags in the bedroom as well as the option for hot chocolate for breakfast (my wife does not drink coffee). Also, it would be nice to have apple juice included in the juice options for breakfast. These are just suggestions and did not spoiled at all our staying at Green Apple.

Tips:

We have a 6 year old daughter, and decide to stay in Carbis Bay for most of the days, so she could enjoy the beach, instead of travelling to many places. We like the food and service at the Cornish Arms just about 0.5-1 mile from the B&B. There is also a Tesco superstore nearby which can be quite handy for quick trips to buy groceries.
